I'm excited to see what God does at Camp. I pray that He reveals His unconditional, unconventional, and all powerful love to the kids!

God's Love: it's unconventional

John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

Rescued..

Here's the amazing story of Brian Head Welch...one of the many who has been rescued from the slavery of this world. He has been brought into sonship and the freedom that is in Christ...God is Love.

Orphaned into slavery

Often times i feel like a spiritual orphan in slavery... to my own fear...my fear of the future..my fear of surrender.. my fear of what God will do with my loved ones and with me if I give them and myself up to Him. I have grown up in a often legalistic culture where I must do my best FOR God (as if He needed my help) and that I must avoid sin at all costs, as if not sinning was righteousness. It often felt like I was seeking to not make a mistake and that the moment I failed God was there waiting with His whip to stripe my back... He felt like merely a master.. it felt as if I'd been left in this world, orphaned and in slavery... Little did I know that the chains of legalism, orpahnhood and slavery had been shattered... I have Sonship in Him... Sonship is a position..it can never be revoked. A son is secure in His Father's love and favor... I must strive no longer but rest in His love..I am a son...

Romans 8:15 "For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!"

Galatians 3:26 "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus."

Galatians 4:3-7 "So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[a] Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

John 14:18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you."

Hebrew 13:5 "I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down relax My hold on you)![Assuredly not!]"

Speechless

"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who reverently and worshipfully] fear Him" Psalm 103:11... The farthest galaxy that we can see from earth is 12.3 billion light years away...

Writers Block

Writers Block...It's not from a lack of feeling, a lack of experience, a lack of events in my life...how is it that so much can be bottled inside without being forced to plunge out. Language...sometimes it cannot capture human experience. What is it to be human... to be in love...to hurt...to laugh...to weep? Can vocabulary; mere words etched in ink sufficiently capture these experiences? Can the letters L...O...V...E cause the reader to fully experience the euphoria of a kiss or the warmth felt in an embrace? Language in all it's beauty and grace cannot fully express what we all wish for it to, but my hope is to snatch away the words which hide in the depths of thought and emotion to capture as best I can what we as people all face...Life...what a beautiful word...that's a word I'll focus on...that's a set of letters worth gripping on to...and thankfully it's not something I must merely dream of attaining, but it is what I already have.
"...I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10...Jesus...that's a name worth clinging to...Yes...that name and that name alone is what I will cling to...
